Tree Care

Use a suitable sized tree stand. One that can hold at least two litres of water. Do not cut off bits around the tree trunk/bark to try and make it fit as the bark helps the tree to absorb water.

Always make a fresh cut, 1-2 cms, off the bottom of the trunk. This well assist the tree in absorbing water by removing any resin that may have formed. Immediately place the tree in water.

If not setting up the tree straight away, keep it in a bucket of water and store in cool natural conditions, away from direct sunlight and wind.

If you are having a tree delivered and you will not be home to receive it, please leave a bucket of water for our driver to place the tree in for you.

Never allow water to run dry in the tree stand. A Christmas tree will drink a surprising amount of water in the first few days after being cut, so make sure you check and top up the water in the stand as required.

If for some reason the tree has been left without water it will have formed a seal of resin over the base of the truck. This hinders the absorbion of water and the tree will dehydrate. You may be able to save it by making a fresh cut,  1-2 cms, off the bottom of the trunk.

Do not place tree near any heat source or air conditioning units as this will rapidly dehydrate the tree.

A Christmas tree is flammable. Do not use candles on or near your tree. Check light set annually and replace any broken or faulty sets. Turn lights off over night and if going away.
